Rooted in Simple Living, High Thinking
Govind Farm is a Vedic eco-village and farm sanctuary in the Sierra Foothills, built on the timeless principle that a life close to the land is a life close to the divine.
How Govind Farm Began
Govind Farm started with a simple wish — to build a place where people, animals, and the land could live in harmony, guided by Vedic wisdom rather than modern haste. As newcomers to the Yuba-Sutter region, we set out to restore a quiet patch of the Sierra Foothills into gardens, orchards, and pastures, and to open it to anyone seeking rest, purpose, or a deeper connection to nature. What began as a small homestead has grown into a gathering place for volunteers, visitors, and neighbors who share the same vision.
Simple Living, High Thinking
We follow the Vedic principle of "simple living and high thinking" — reducing our dependence on artificial needs so there's more room for community, contemplation, and service. That means organic growing methods, protection and care for our cows and other animals, and daily rhythms shaped by the seasons rather than the clock. Every task on the farm, from watering a sapling to milking a cow, is treated as an act of devotion, not just labor.
Our Core Values
Cow Protection
Our cows are cared for as family, not livestock — central to Vedic farming and to the life of the community.
Sustainable Agriculture
Organic, chemical-free growing methods that work with the land instead of against it.
Seva (Selfless Service)
Volunteering and daily farm work are offered in a spirit of service to the community and the land.
Open Community
Visitors of every background are welcome to learn, work, and rest alongside us.
Mindful Living
Yoga, meditation, and quiet time in nature are woven into everyday life at the farm.
Regional Partnership
We collaborate with neighboring farms and wellness centers across the Yuba-Sutter region.
